I did a lot of reading up on this camera before making the purchase. It has proven itself to be everything I expected and more. Simple to use and with a load of online help, in particular on YouTube. We've taken some lovely animal photos with this already. Action shots of birds using the burst function are simply fab.
It's not the best camera in the world, but for the money it would be hard to beat. Camera Paradise delivered my camera from Hong Kong to Australia with Toll Express, ordered on Sunday morning, arrived Thursday. I took the MACK diamond international warranty, as if you don't here in Australia it may be considered to be a 'grey import' which means it's warranty status could be unclear. The MACK warranty covers even for sand / water ingress. Camera Paradise were very well organised and the warranty documents were emailed to me in a timely manner. 10/10 all around. The photos below were taken about 20M away from the subjects on full auto mode.

I chose this camera because it advertised a high shutter speed. And they were right. You can turn it on and shoot a moving target in just a couple of seconds. Just what I need to catch my cute new puppy!

Having destroyed my last camera on a sailing event, the Lumix FZ200 was highly recommended by a camera buff mate as a suitable replacement. Being the person responsible for recording sailing events for our local yacht squadron, I needed a camera with a big zoom and good lens stabilisation. This camera is fantastic - at full zoom, hand held on a rolling pitching boat, the images provided by this little piece of technology are crisp and clear. As an architect, the camera is used for my work. At wide angle, the lens gives full coverage. I may have sold a few people on this camera.

My Dad bought this camera last year and recommended it to me. Its easy to use but also has many more functions. A really good buy for someone not advanced enough for an SLR but wanting something more than a small digital camera. Really happy with it.

Very happy with my purchase of the Panasonic Lumix FZ200. I was looking for a bridge type camera with great low light specs. Sick of changing lenses on my dslr all the time, so I went to a Fuji HS50EXR. Prepared to compromise ultimate picture quality for one-lens convenience. Still not happy. Did lots of research, and decided that the Leica V-Lux 4 had the specs I was after. Then found out that the Lumix is the same camera for a little over half the money.
I nearly didn't buy it, as I really like manual zoom, and the FZ200 lacks this feature. So glad I bit the bullet.
Great low light quality, due mainly to that beautiful 24X optical zoom Leica Lens, which stay open to 2.8 right through the zoom range. Very fast and accurate auto focus, but you can also manual focus.
As I upload videos to FB, I use the lesser VGA setting for convenience, but the full HD vids are awesome.
Bought a Lumix DMW-MS1 top mount mic to go with this camera, and it works a treat, though the built in stereo mics are at least on a par with other similar cameras.
Would I recommend this camera to a friend? I have already recommended it to several of my friends, for its quality, versatility, and ease of use.

60 Years ago my Father (Photographer) started me in the profession with his Leica 111g and f2 Summer lens. The career has been good to me.
Now retired we bought a few years back an FZ28. This was followed by an FZ 100. Now we have an FZ 200. All have been excellent value.
I see odd folks winging about these cameras - they show their ineptness by doing so. It is excellent value with a top lens. The two photos enclosed were taken 20 minutes after it came "out of the box". 15 minutes were needed for battery part charge. Both were taken at full zoom, 1 interior and 1 exterior.
I have 2 Canon "real SLR's" with incredible zooms, yet when we are going off to an airshow or other outing, we grab the FZ 100 and FZ 200 they are awesome as "point and shooters".
My only complaint with the FZ 200 is my wife wants another NOW.

I chose this camera over all the contenders because of the incredible information provided free by Graham Houghton. His manual and YouTube videos are excellent. Using this information has given me confidence to begin using some of the many features. I am a decided amateur with professional yearnings. I have used centre weighted exposure metering mode for close ups of plants and AF macro mode when I want a blurred background and I am very happy with the results. The camera takes wonderful landscape shots and although I am relying on the intelligent autofocus mode I am starting to learn more about the many easy to use menu options. I am a gardener, kayaker and bushwalker and this camera suits my needs.

The Lumix takes some great shots on Auto, but to get the shots you want you'll have to delve into the manual settings. I did find using the setting wheel as both button (push) and dial (turn) tricky at the start, and it took me a while to figure out manual focus, but the results are worth the effort. What I love most is the very precise focusing, which gives some amazing results -- for example, the focus on the raindrops on the window and on the flower bud in my photos. The camera is nowhere near as heavy as a DSLR and is comfortable to hold and use. A great camera.

Just returned from holidays with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ200. Not much time to study the advanced tutorial, so I set it on Intelligent Auto, and there it stayed. Mostly took video set to MPEG 4, and high quality JPEG stills. This camera handles both to a high standard. The constant 2.8 aperture Leica lens, handled low light very well. The results were not just good - but outstanding. A lot of time in research but I made the right choice. Cheers Albert Hudson

I'm not a photographer and this camera fits the bill exactly. It's easy to use, has many good options and take wonderful photos without the need for a lot of technical knowledge.
My only complaint really is that the buttons on the right at the back are too near to the position of my thumb so that I am constantly dpressing the white balance button accidentally. Now I am aware of it the problem is less.
